In Athens for the night

Hey!

So we took the highspeed ferry from Santorini at 5 tonight back to Athens. It was so sad leaving, but I'm really excited for the next leg of our trip because WE ARE GOING TO ROME tomorrow!!! And it just so happens that our visit coincides with the beatification of Pope John Paul II, so it will be the perfect day to see the vatican!

I'm so excited to eat some pizza, pasta, and gelato! We have to make the most of it though, cause we are only in Rome for 6 hours. Our train back to Geneva is at 4, so we gotta make those hours count!

Second day in Santorini

So its our second day on this beautiful island and the weather is a little bit better than yesterday, but not as warm as Croatia!

We went to dinner last night and ate some authentic Greek food and then some bars. This little island has everything! Its so cute and is like nowhere else I've ever been before

Today were going to go visit some beaches: they have a black, a white, and a red beach! And then a little village on the island where we were told has the most beautiful sunset in the world

Just arrived in Santorini!!

After 52 hours of travel, starting Tuesday morning, we finally arrived just a few minutes ago! Were getting ready to shower and explore the island!

48 hour train ride

Hola!

So we are halfway done with our 48 hour trek from Dubrovnik Croatia to Santorini Greece. We took a bus back from Dubrovnik to Split, then a train from Split to Zagreb, another train from Zagreb to Belgrade, now were on the train to Thesaloniki, then we have another to Athens, and then finally a ferry to the island. But it will be totally worth it.

Dubrovnik was amazing as I'm sure you saw. We went to the beach, did some cliff jumping, did a pub crawl and got a killer tan. Also, the fresh fish was unbeatable.

I've read 4 books already on this journey, so were keeping ourselves busy!

Spring Break

Hey!

So I wanted to post my spring break itinerary in case there was someone out there who wanted to follow along...

Thurs (21): train to Munich/spend night in Munich
Fri (22): train Munich to Zagreb, Croatia/spend the night in Zagreb
Sat (23): train Zagreb to Split, Croatia/spend the night in Split
Sun (24): bus from Split to Dubrovnik, Croatia/spend the night in Dubrovnik
Mon (25): spend the day and night in Dubrovnik
Tues (26): bus from Dubrovnik to Split, then take a train back to Zagreb, then to Greece (night train)
Wed (27): still on train to Greece...
Thurs (28): Arrive in Athens, take a ferry to Santorini, Greece/spend the night in Santorini
Fri (29): spend the day/night in Santorini
Sat (30): ferry back to Athens, spend the night in Athens
Sun (31): flight to Rome at 8.45 am/spend the day in Rome/train back to Geneva at 7.25 pm, gets in at 11 pm

Geneva is Beautiful

Were back from our eastern trip for a whole 3 days of writing, reading, and classes before we leave on our next trip thursday morning!

I've been getting to see more of Geneva than usual cause I'm officially in training for a half-marathon in 25 days...wish me luck! That means ridiculously long runs all around the city, but hey, at least I'm getting a tan

In Vienna!

So we got to Vienna yesterday around 6 pm after a long train ride from Prague. We went to a vineyard for dinner and had some home-made wine and real Austrian food (all for 10 euros!) and went back to the hotel for the night. The weather has been gross: cold and rainy so we haven't been able to go exploring yet.

We are visiting the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe this morning, then we have a couple hours for lunch, then another visit with an organization. We get out at 6 pm so we won't get to see too much of Vienna during the daytime, but nonetheless it seems like a great city and I'm excited to be here.
